PAU Adds a New Collaboration to University-Industry Partnerships: Meaningful Donation from Ardöküm A.Ş.
Pamukkale University (PAU) signed a protocol with Ardöküm Merdane Sanayi A.Ş., a longstanding industrial company in Denizli, to better equip future engineers. The donation will establish a state-of-the-art Machining Center for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Within the scope of the signed protocol between PAU and Ardöküm Merdane Sanayi A.Ş., a donation was made to establish a Machining Center equipped with modern production technologies in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The protocol signing ceremony took place at the Rectorate and was attended by PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnel, Ardöküm A.Ş. Chairman of the Board Muhsin Özcan, Ardöküm A.Ş. Board Member Bilal Özcan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sezai Tokat, and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran.
With this protocol, the university-industry collaboration reaches a new level. At the “Pamukkale University Muhsin Özcan Machining Center,” students will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice using cutting-edge equipment such as CNC lathes and vertical machining centers, mold milling machines, band saws, CAD-CAM training infrastructure, and fully equipped 3D printer laboratories. Students will first learn production processes through coding and simulations in a virtual environment and then gain hands-on experience by printing their own designs with 3D printers and manufacturing them on actual machines.
Rector Güngör: “This donation is an investment in the regional industry, the national economy, and the dreams of young engineers.”
Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör commented on the collaboration: “The donation is not only an educational investment; it is also an investment in the regional industry, the national economy, and the aspirations of young engineers. While the brand value of Pamukkale University increases, the industry will meet engineers who are better equipped and ready for production. I would like to thank everyone involved in preparing this protocol, especially Ardöküm Merdane Sanayi A.Ş. Chairman of the Board Muhsin Özcan, and I hope it will contribute to many good deeds.”
