World Tourism Day Message from Rector Kutluhan

In the message he published on the occasion of 27 September World Tourism Day; Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan emphasized that universities, which combine science with the technologies of the age, have great responsibilities in increasing our tourism potential.

He said: "Pamukkale University took on many roles in the creation of Denizli tourism routes (www.pau.edu.tr/turizm), in the transfer of the natural and cultural values ​​of Denizli with methods based on active learning (https://www.pau.edu.tr/kulturelmiras), International Turkic World Tourism Symposium (https://www.pau.edu.tr/tdts), detecting the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the tourism industry and the crisis management strategies of countries, and the execution of projects on the protection of intangible cultural heritage. It will also host the Sustainable Thermal Tourism Congress (www.pau.edu.tr/sttk), which was decided to be held on 20-21 May 2022, with the participation of many national and international academicians, and we will be honored to host the 7th International 23rd National Tourism Congress in 2023. In cooperation with non-governmental organizations, public institutions and organizations and professional chambers, under the guidance of science, our studies that will contribute to the development of tourism, technology, industry, culture, sports, economy and all other fields, will increase and continue in the future like today first in our province and region and then in our country. With all these feelings and thoughts, I would like to express my gratitude to the people, institutions and organizations who have made efforts to achieve the goals of our country in the field of tourism, and I congratulate all the stakeholders of our tourism sector on September 27, World Tourism Day.”
