Rector Güngör: “As Pamukkale University, we are here to raise young people who are loyally devoted to their homeland, who wholeheartedly believe in their own culture, and who take science and national values as their guide.”
In his opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör said: “Today, we have gathered here not only to commemorate a single day but to once again proclaim to the entire world how this noble nation defended its faith and homeland, and how it turned one of the darkest nights in its history into a bright morning. That night, we defended not only our country, but also our thousand-year-old civilization, our faith, our flag, our state, and our future. The bodies that stood before tanks, the hearts that walked upon bullets, were the will of this nation, kneaded with faith. Those bodies were the name of victory. Türkiye was the name of victory. As Pamukkale University, we are here to raise young people who are loyally devoted to their homeland, who wholeheartedly believe in their own culture, and who take science and national values as their guide. We carry the trust of this noble nation in our hearts and nurture it with knowledge, morality, and effort. With these feelings and thoughts, we respectfully commemorate all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland on the night of July 15, express our gratitude to our veterans, and sincerely express that we feel honored to be a member of this great nation. Yes! The name of victory is Türkiye, and we will continue to glorify this name forever. I extend my love and respect to all of you.”
