PAÜ Takes Strong Steps Toward Internationalization
Pamukkale University (PAÜ) has achieved significant successes with activities carried out over the past three months in line with its vision for internationalization.
Within a holistic internationalization approach, PAÜ continues to work on increasing global interaction opportunities at student, staff, and institutional levels. Under the coordination of the International Relations Office, concrete progress has been made in many areas including student mobility, academic collaborations, inter-institutional agreements, and dual degree programs.
85 New International Agreements and 235 Staff Mobilities
In the last three months, 85 new international agreements were signed at the departmental level, and a total of 235 academic and administrative staff members were sent abroad or planned for mobility. By the end of 2025, it is targeted to send a total of 184 students abroad under exchange promrams.
New Internship Program for Doctoral Students Launched
For the first time in PAÜ’s history, alongside existing two-month international internships, a short-term doctoral internship program supported by higher grants was implemented. Within this scope, doctoral students gain international academic experience by interning at institutions in Europe for periods ranging from 5 to 30 days.
Participation in the YÖK-Times Higher Education Summit
Invited by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), PAÜ participated in an international summit organized in Istanbul in collaboration with Times Higher Education. The university held discussions on cooperation and Erasmus agreements with universities from many countries including New Zealand, South Korea, Hungary, and Morocco. Additionally, PAÜ took part in special meetings and workshops aimed at improving its position in global rankings.
Record Expectation in International Student Numbers
PAÜ continues to place great importance on incoming students for a semester under exchange programs and international agreements. As a result of collaborations, approximately 150 international students are expected to study at PAÜ in the Fall 2025 semester. This number will be the highest number of international students at PAÜ for a single semester in its history.
PAÜ Among Six Universities Running Active SUNY Dual Degree Programs
PAÜ is one of six universities in Türkiye actively running SUNY dual degree programs, currently maintaining this cooperation through three different programs. In the last three months, detailed examinations were conducted of all departments across 19 faculties, and programs meeting suitable criteria were identified. Concrete steps have been taken toward new dual degree programs accordingly.
Erasmus Office More Accessible in Its New Location
To make the internationalization process more visible and accessible, the Erasmus Office was moved to the community building where students are densely present. This step, also emphasized in Türkiye’s National Agency’s manuals, has facilitated student access to Erasmus and international exchange programs, making the process more efficient and effective.
