PAU Children's University Hosts Special Festival for April 23
Pamukkale University (PAU) Children's and Youth Education Application and Research Center (Children's University) celebrated April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day with a vibrant festival under the theme “Denizli Comes Alive with PAU Children!” The event, attended by PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, took place on the Kınıklı Campus and featured moments of great enthusiasm.

Children—future scientists, artists, and leaders—both learned and had fun throughout the festival. With a wide variety of activities ranging from science to art, games to sports, the event offered an unforgettable holiday experience for the children.
Prof. Dr. Fatma Taşkın Ekici, Director of the PAU Children’s University, shared her thoughts on the event, saying: "April 23 is not only a day for children to enjoy themselves but also an important opportunity for them to express themselves, be creative, and learn. This year, we aimed to bring our children together with science, art, and joyful learning. Seeing the sparkle in their eyes makes everything worthwhile. With the voluntary support of our student communities, we organized a much more inclusive event."
The festival opened with April 23 performances prepared by kindergarten students studying at the PAU Children’s University. The “Welcome with Joy” rhythm show and the “My Atatürk” dance performance drew great attention from the audience.
The festival, organized by PAU Children’s University, also welcomed voluntary participation from 20 student communities within PAU, as well as various institutions and organizations, including the Pamukkale University Language Teaching Application and Research Center (PADAM), Denizli Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Denizli Bar Association’s Children’s Rights Commission, the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) Denizli Branch, and the UCIM Denizli Provincial Representation.
The event featured around 70 educational and entertaining workshops with a wide range of themes. These included face painting, seed ball making, artificial flower crafts, “a magical touch to fashion,” a planetarium, space station, engineering and traditional games workshops, obstacle courses, rebus puzzles, puppet and language workshops—covering science, art, and play.
Parents expressed their satisfaction with the diversity of the activities and their children's active participation in the festival, thanking the team behind the organization.
PAU Children’s University will continue to organize child-focused events throughout the year.
