National Swimmer from PAU Visits Rector Güngör

Pamukkale University (PAU) national swimmer Ahmet Mete Boylu, accompanied by his coach and PAU Faculty of Sport Sciences staff member Musa Özcan, paid a visit to Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör at his office.

Ahmet Mete Boylu, who competed with the Turkish National Swimming Team at the European Youth Championships held in Slovakia from July 1–6 and placed 3rd in the 4x200 meter relay and 4th in the individual 200-meter freestyle, and later from August 19–24 at the World Youth Swimming Championships in Romania achieved 4th place in the 200-meter freestyle, visited Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör with his coach Musa Özcan to present his medals.

Rector Güngör: “It is an honor for us that a member of our country’s pride, the Turkish National Swimming Team, is from PAU. We take great pride in Ahmet Mete’s achievements.”

Receiving PAU’s pride and Turkish National Team member Ahmet Mete Boylu and his coach Musa Özcan at his office, Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör congratulated them on their successes, stating: “It is an honor for us that a member of our country’s pride, the Turkish National Swimming Team, is from PAU. We take pride in Ahmet Mete’s accomplishments and wish him continued success.”

Having joined Pamukkale University’s swimming courses at the age of six, where his talent was first recognized, national swimmer Ahmet Mete Boylu has since set over 40 Turkish records and won multiple Turkish Swimming Championships. The PAU athlete also won 3rd place in the 200-meter freestyle at the 2023 European Youth Olympic Festival and is included in the Turkish National Swimming Team preparing for the 2028 Olympic Games, continuing his training at the PAU Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Sports Center.
