Experts in Measurement and Evaluation Gather in Denizli

The Xth International Congress on Measurement and Evaluation in Education and Psychology (CMEEP 2026), hosted by Pamukkale University (PAU), brought together scientists, educators, and researchers from Türkiye and different countries around the world in Denizli

The opening program, held on Monday, October 5, at the PAU Faculty of Education Melek Sözkesen Conference Hall, was attended by Pamukkale University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz and Prof. Dr. İbrahim Türkçüer, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. İzzet Kara, as well as deans, academics, and invited speakers.

The international speakers at the congress include Prof. Dr. Ying Zheng from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Jimmy de la Torre from the University of Hong Kong, and Prof. Dr. Stephen Sireci from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the United States. Representatives from measurement and evaluation centers in the Turkic republics are also sharing their experiences, contributing to scientific cooperation among the countries.

The program, consisting of keynote speeches, panels, workshops, and in-person and online paper presentations, addresses topics including the use of artificial intelligence in education, fairness and validity in measurement and evaluation, language proficiency assessment, and the measurement of higher-order thinking skills and professional competencies. The opportunities offered by AI-supported assessment practices and the ethical responsibilities they entail are also among the topics being discussed.

Held from October 5 to 9, the Congress provides an environment for sharing current research and developing new scientific collaborations at national and international levels. In addition to scientific exchange, it also contributes to promoting the historical, cultural, and natural riches of Denizli and Türkiye. As part of the congress program, an excursion has also been planned for participants to visit the ancient city of Hierapolis and the Pamukkale Travertines. The excursion offers international participants in particular the opportunity to experience the region’s unique heritage firsthand, while also supporting the international promotion of Denizli.
