“Building Bridges” Gathering at PAU Held with International Participation
The event titled “Building Bridges: Sharing and Promotion Meeting in Child Development,” organized in collaboration with the Pamukkale University (PAU) Shapers of the Future Children and Youth Community and the Child Development Program, was held on October 27 on the ground floor of the Denizli Vocational School of Health Services (DSHMYO).
As part of the program, the Child Development Exhibition was inaugurated with the participation of Prof. Dr. Olcay Güngör, Director of the Denizli Vocational School of Health Services; faculty members of the Child Development Program Prof. Dr. Özlem Körükçü, Assistant Professor Hande Güngör, Lecturer Dilek Uludağ Kodal, Lecturer Fatma Gülten İlavlı; and students. The exhibition featured materials, artistic works, and applied projects prepared by child development students.
The Quilling (Paper Filigree) Workshop and Child Development Exhibition held within the scope of the event served as a meaningful platform for students to share their creations and strengthen cultural exchange.
The quilling workshop was conducted by Şule Tekeşi, a retired faculty member from the Pamukkale University Child Development Program. Under Tekeşi’s guidance, participants learned the intricate techniques of the paper filigree art and created original works. The hands-on workshop not only enhanced manual dexterity but also provided a learning experience centered on artistic expression and patience.
The event gained an international dimension with the participation of teachers from Scoala Gimnaziala Nr.2 Caracal School in Romania, as well as teachers from Zübeyde Hanım Kindergarten and Okul Yaptırma Yaşatma Kindergarten. Participants had the opportunity to observe how creative activities in child development contribute to intercultural sharing.
At the end of the event, participants experienced the unifying power of creation and sharing, bringing to life the idea of “building bridges for the future” in a tangible way.
