Turkish Red Crescent Explained the Importance of Blood and Stem Cell Donation at PAU

During the 2025–2026 Academic Year orientation week at Pamukkale University (PAU), an informative and voluntary blood donation event was held for students, academic and administrative staff in cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent Blood Services General Directorate and the South Aegean Blood Center Directorate.

The Blood Donation Event, held on September 19, 22, and 23 at the Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz Congress and Culture Center, opened on Friday, September 19, with the participation of Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Türkçüer. The event aimed to raise awareness among students and university staff through presentations on blood and stem cell donation.

Within the scope of the “Informative Training and Blood Donation Event” organized in cooperation between PAU and the Turkish Red Crescent, training sessions were planned for preparatory and first-year students on Friday, September 19; for all students on Monday, September 22; and for all academic and administrative staff on Tuesday, September 23. The informative training emphasized the importance of blood donation and stem cell donation. Following the training sessions, students and PAU staff donated blood to the Turkish Red Crescent.

Rector Güngör Emphasized that Blood and Stem Cell Donation is a Life-Saving Act of Kindness

On the second day of the events, Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör visited the Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz Congress and Culture Center, where the trainings and blood donations took place, met with students and staff who donated blood, and received information about the activities. Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör expressed his gratitude to the participants of the blood donation campaign and highlighted that blood and stem cell donation is a life-saving act of kindness.
