Prof. Dr. Ayşen Baykara Speaks at PAU Spring Festival’s “Family”-Themed Conference
As part of the first day of Pamukkale University’s (PAU) Spring Festival, a conference on the theme of "Family" was held, featuring Prof. Dr. Ayşen Baykara from Dokuz Eylül University as the keynote speaker.

The event took place at the PAU Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz Congress and
Cultural Center and began with opening remarks.
Rector Prof.
Dr. Mahmud Güngör: “The values we share today will further strengthen the
family bonds that form the foundation of our society.”
In his opening speech, PAU Rector Prof. Dr.
Mahmud Güngör emphasized the importance of family, stating:
“Family is a sacred institution where universal values such as love, respect,
tolerance, and solidarity are experienced. It is the first social environment
for individuals and forms the basis for the healthy and stable development of
societies. Strong families are the cornerstones of strong communities.
With this year’s theme designated as the ‘Year
of Family,’ our aim is to strengthen familial ties, enhance intra-family
communication, and pass on family values to future generations.
As a university, we consider it our duty not
only to provide education and conduct research but also to contribute to the
core values of society. To raise awareness of family values, promote social
solidarity, and foster new generations based on love and respect, we organize various
events in both academic and social fields.
The family is the first and most significant
educational institution in a person’s life. Families that instill love,
tolerance, and a sense of responsibility in their children play a pivotal role
in advancing society. Therefore, strengthening families and ensuring healthy
family communication is essential not only for individuals but for societal
development as a whole.
At this point, our state, civil society
organizations, and educational institutions must work hand in hand to reinforce
the institution of the family. A family is not only a bond of blood but also a
way of life rooted in love and respect. The values we share here today will
further solidify the bonds that form the bedrock of society. Strengthening our
unity and expanding the atmosphere of love and tolerance is a shared
responsibility if we are to leave a better world for our children.
I hope this meaningful event contributes to
raising awareness about the importance of family in our society and helps
preserve our family values. Thank you all for your participation and support.”
Moderated by Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof.
Dr. Osman İsmail Özdel, the conference featured a presentation by Prof. Dr.
Ayşen Baykara, who explored the concept of “family” through both an academic
lens and real-life examples.

Dr. Mahmud Güngör presented a gift to Prof. Dr. Ayşen Baykara in appreciation
of her contribution.
