Pizza Workshop at PAU Hospitals’ Community Mental Health Centre for World Mental Health Day
At a pizza workshop organised by the Community Mental Health Centre at Pamukkale University (PAU) Hospitals to mark World Mental Health Day on 10 October, participants experienced the joy of creating and sharing together.
Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nur İnci Kenar, the physician in charge of the Community Mental Health Centre at Pamukkale University (PAU) Hospitals, made the following statement about the event, which she organised together with the Community Mental Health Centre team and its participants:
“At the event, which we organised to support social participation, develop daily living skills and raise public awareness, our participants actively took part in preparing pizzas and experienced the joy of creating and sharing together. Community mental health services are not limited to treatment processes alone. It is also very important for participants to feel that they are part of society and to improve their quality of life. Through the social and rehabilitation-focused activities we organise in this regard, we support their participation in everyday life as active and productive individuals. The pizzas prepared together provided a wonderful example of solidarity, sharing and coming together around a common purpose.”
Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nur İnci Kenar: “Reducing Prejudice and Strengthening a Culture of Solidarity Are Our Shared Responsibility.”
Emphasising that raising public awareness of mental health, reducing prejudice and strengthening a culture of solidarity are our shared responsibility, İnci Kenar said:
“We would like to thank Facolina Restaurant, Halitefendy Pizza and Halide Tuzcuoğlu for their sensitivity and support in making this meaningful event possible. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the university and hospital staff who accompanied our participants during this event for their support.
As the Community Mental Health Centre at Pamukkale University Hospitals, we highlight the importance of initiatives that raise awareness of mental health, strengthen social solidarity and support participants’ involvement in social life. We will continue working together to build a more understanding, inclusive and supportive society. It should not be forgotten that mental health deserves support in every aspect of life. Creating, sharing and standing together are important steps towards strengthening well-being.”
