PAU Kicks Off Orientation Week Activities with Training on “Combating Addiction and Drugs”

As part of the 2025-2026 Academic Year Orientation Week Activities, Pamukkale University (PAU) organized a training titled “Combating Addiction and Drugs,” prepared by the Green Crescent Denizli Branch and the Denizli Provincial Police Department, and supported by PAU Psychological Counseling and Guidance Education, Practice, and Research Center (PDREM).

The event, held at the PAU Hierapolis Conference Hall, included presentations for new students at PAU. Psychological Counselor and Lecturer Işıl Özkılıç from PAU Psychological Counseling and Guidance Education, Practice, and Research Center introduced the unit’s activities and operations. Social Work Specialist Fatma Ulusoy from the Green Crescent Denizli Branch gave a presentation titled “Gambling Addiction,” while Commissioner Cemil Özdemir and Police Officer Mehmet Kılboz from Denizli Provincial Police Department delivered presentations on “Combating Addiction and Drugs.” The entire training program was streamed live via PAU’s official YouTube channel and shared simultaneously with students from all faculties and vocational schools.

After the presentations, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the guests who answered students’ questions by Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Serkan Bertan and Director of Denizli Vocational School of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Tülay Metin.
