Psychologist Hidayet İmançlı, Supervisor of the Psychological Assessment Unit at PAU Hospitals, highlighted that an individual’s mental health is as important and valuable as physical health, and continued as follows: “All psychologists work with great dedication to protect individuals’ mental health, improve their quality of life, and strengthen societal resilience. Psychologists are important healthcare professionals who help individuals make sense of their difficulties, ease their emotional burdens, and lead more fulfilling lives. All psychologists working in the field play a significant role with their client-centered approaches, evidence-based practices, ethical values, and human-oriented service understanding. Especially in today’s world, where stress factors, social changes, and crisis situations are increasing, the need for mental health services is greater than ever. In this regard, the efforts of all colleagues who touch human lives with effort, patience, and scientific foundations, while adhering to ethical principles, are highly valuable. May 10 is celebrated worldwide and in our country to increase professional awareness of psychologists, emphasize appropriate working conditions in line with the professional definition, and remind ethical principles. On this meaningful day, I would like to thank all my colleagues who make a difference with their efforts, who proudly say ‘I am a psychologist,’ who illuminate the darkness of individuals, and I celebrate May 10 World Psychologists’ Day and wish them continued success in their professional lives.”
