PAU Children’s University Celebrates April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with the Theme “Peace at Home, Peace in the World”

Pamukkale University Children and Youth Education Application and Research Center (PAU Children’s University) organized a comprehensive festival program under the theme “Peace at Home, Peace in the World” as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. The event, attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Türkçüer, was held at Kınıklı Campus with great interest and enthusiasm.

The program began with April 23 special performances prepared by the kindergarten group within PAU Children’s University. The dance performances “Traditional Dance of Turkic Peoples Kara Jorga” and “Çakal Çökerten Zeybeği” attracted great attention.

At the festival organized by PAU Children’s University, 18 student communities within PAU, as well as institutions and organizations such as Pamukkale University Language Teaching Application and Research Center (PADAM) and UCİM Denizli Provincial Representation, also took part voluntarily.

PAU Children’s University Director Prof. Dr. Fatma Taşkın Ekici emphasized the importance of the event, stating: “Today, we are experiencing the joy of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day together. This meaningful day is a unique holiday on which our nation declared its sovereignty and which was presented as a gift to children, the guarantee of our future. It is the duty of all of us to protect this legacy left to us by Atatürk. We must work together to raise our children as conscious individuals in peace and look to the future with hope.”

Within the scope of the program, in addition to a protected football exhibition match and a Bagatur bayonet show; lively and entertaining moments were experienced throughout the program with traditional children’s games, dance activities and mini competitions. The program was enriched with scientific activities such as burning water, volcano and metamorphosis in insects experiments, as well as binocular microscope examinations within the scope of Deneyap applications and the colorful world of science. In artistic and creative workshops, activities such as face painting, finger printing, puppet making, origami, drawing corner, painting figures with fairy tale characters and colorful works were carried out; different learning areas were supported with practices such as English workshop, mini cultural activities and “Let’s make a combination.” In addition to fun practices such as task wheel and balloon popping games and balloons turning into strawberries, awareness activities such as safe building game and health line activities also took place. The program was completed with a holistic content contributing to children’s social, emotional and value-based development through activities such as “Find My Rights,” peace circle, wishes flapping towards the future, 2040 vision capsule, and design and fly your star.

Parents expressed their satisfaction with the organization, stating that such activities where their children can both have fun and learn make significant contributions to their development.

Children experienced the joy of learning and having fun together throughout the festival. Thanks to activities organized in different fields such as scientific, cultural, artistic, sportive and community service, a memorable holiday atmosphere was created for children.

PAU Children’s University will continue to carry out activities and programs for different age groups throughout the year.
