05.02.2026
A protocol was signed between Pamukkale University (PAU) and the Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Industrialists’ Foundation (DOSAV) regarding the provision of a tomography device—set to be a first in the Aegean Region—for the Stroke Center to be established within Pamukkale University Hospital.

The signing ceremony, held at the Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Directorate, was attended by Pamukkale University Rector Mahmud Güngör; PAU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz and Prof. Dr. İbrahim Türkçüer; Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Board Chair and DOSAV Foundation Chair Derya Baltalı; PAU Hospitals Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Hakan Alkan; Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Board Members Mehmet Çalışkan and İsmail Aslan; Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Regional Director Ahmet Taş; General Electric Sales Manager Ender Kaya; and GE HealthCare Sales Director Yusuf Ziya Nural.

Rector Güngör: “Thanks to this center, a strong healthcare infrastructure will be established to serve not only Denizli but also neighboring provinces.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör emphasized that the planned Stroke Center is an important need for Denizli and said: “We are implementing another of the finest examples of university–industry cooperation. Thanks to this center, a strong healthcare infrastructure will be established to serve not only Denizli but also neighboring provinces. We had purchased the angiography device for the Stroke Center, but we had not been able to obtain the tomography device. I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Derya and the Board Members. With their support, we will bring the tomography device to our Stroke Center. Every investment made in the field of health directly touches human life. I would like to thank the management of Denizli Organized Industrial Zone and the DOSAV Foundation, as well as our benefactors, for their valuable contributions.”

Chair Baltalı: “A Tomography Device with No Precedent in the Aegean Region Has Been Procured”

In her remarks, Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Board Chair Derya Baltalı stated that producing solutions for stroke disease has long been on their agenda, saying: “At our university, the necessary infrastructure for this center has largely been prepared and many devices have been procured. However, there is a tomography device of critical importance here, meeting world standards. Together with our board, we assumed responsibility for providing this device. We will carry out the donation process through our Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Foundation and then transfer it to the university foundation. As of now, the device has been procured. Thanks to this device—featuring the highest level of technology and with no equivalent in the Aegean Region—it is possible to intervene in a stroke patient within the first six hours. By identifying the location of the clot, it can be removed using the angiography method. Thus, the patient can be discharged in a short time and return to daily life. In a city like Denizli, with strong human resources, we take great pride in leading such a vital healthcare investment.”
