On the occasion of "Patient Rights Day," Pamukkale University (PAU) Hospitals organized an event in which the hospital management visited patients in inpatient wards.

During the "Patient Rights Day" on October 26th, patients in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department at PAU Hospitals were visited by Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Hakan Alkan, Deputy Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Muhammet Arslan, Chief Director Dr. Murat Taşer, Hospital Managers, the Nursing Services Department, the Patient Rights Unit, and philanthropist Saffet Girgin, who presented gifts to the patients in honor of the day.

In a statement made by the Patient Rights Unit during the visit, the following was expressed: "Patient rights encompass the ability for patients to access healthcare services under conditions that respect human rights, and the implementation of these rights in the healthcare sector in its most fundamental sense. It is a set of principles that regulate the mutual relationships between patients, physicians, and healthcare institutions. Through patient rights, efforts are made to solve the problems that arise at both individual and societal levels between patients and healthcare workers, and to increase their dignity. It is aimed to establish a quality healthcare environment by strengthening the relationship between the patient and the healthcare workers, as they both understand their respective duties and responsibilities. In our institution, the Patient Rights Unit analyzes requests and complaints accurately, ensuring the process is managed in the best possible way and addressing expectations to increase patient satisfaction and the quality of the institution. Throughout the year, patients and their families are reminded of their rights and responsibilities through informational sessions. Additionally, 73 newly hired staff members (nurses, technicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, paramedics, medical secretaries, support staff, dietitians, etc.) received face-to-face training, and online training sessions were held for all employees. During the visit, patients were reminded of their rights through direct communication, and small gifts were presented to them. With such events, we aim to increase patient satisfaction and strengthen awareness of rights."
