29.01.2026
Pamukkale University (PAU) continues to strengthen its education and training activities on a global scale in line with its internationalization vision. In order to offer the academic and professional gains provided by existing dual degree programs to a larger number of students, the university has launched a comprehensive, university-wide initiative to increase the number of such programs.

International Joint Undergraduate Programs, also known as dual degree programs, constitute one of the strategic priorities of the university. Within this scope, PAU stands out with its collaborations with the State University of New York (SUNY), one of the largest university systems in the United States of America.

Through the SUNY Cortland dual degree programs, which are currently successfully conducted in the Departments of Political Science and Public Administration, Economics, and English Language and Literature, students complete the first two years of their education at Pamukkale University and the last two years in the USA. Students who successfully complete the program are entitled to receive both PAU and SUNY Cortland diplomas, while also gaining legal work rights in the USA, adding an international dimension to their post-graduation careers.

Dual Degree Program Studies Started for New Media and Communication and Electrical-Electronics Engineering Departments

In line with the university-wide initiative launched to increase the number of dual degree programs and to offer their academic and professional benefits to more students, all faculties of Pamukkale University were thoroughly reviewed, and departments with suitable academic infrastructure and international cooperation potential for dual degree agreements were identified. Evaluation and information meetings were held with the participation of relevant faculty and department representatives. As a result of these studies, it was determined that particularly the New Media and Communication and Electrical-Electronics Engineering departments are suitable for launching a dual degree program with SUNY. Intensive and multi-dimensional work has been initiated in these departments to implement international joint programs, especially in terms of academic curriculum compatibility, faculty collaborations, and administrative processes.

Pamukkale University aims to provide its students with internationally standardized education through new dual degree programs, increase the global competitiveness of its graduates, and further strengthen the university’s visibility among world universities. The ongoing efforts are expected to result in concrete collaborations and new programs in the upcoming period.
