The Social and Cultural Activities Community of PAU Honaz Vocational School carried out a meaningful event to draw attention to the historical and natural heritage of the region. In the organization held on April 9, students spent a day in close contact with nature while also embarking on a journey into the mysterious world of the ancient city.

A Journey Through History: From Göz Location to Colossae

The route of the walk, which started from the Göz area of Honaz, led to the Colossae Ancient City, one of the most important historical heritage sites of the region. The group, which proceeded along a safe route under the guidance of the Pamukkale Search and Rescue Nature Sports Club (PAKDOS), was accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Barış Yener. Yener turned the walk into an academic cultural tour by providing students with on-site information about the historical importance and archaeological value of the ancient city.

Protocol Officials and Youth Together

Following the walk, the program held at the Göz picnic area received full support from local authorities. Honaz District Governor Vahit Yılmaz and Honaz Mayor Yüksel Kepenek attended the event and met with the students. Speaking with the youth, the protocol members emphasized that such social and cultural activities are of great importance for the promotion of the district and for student motivation.

Entertainment and Competition Excitement

After the meal service, the event took on the atmosphere of a youth festival. Students enjoyed themselves with music and competed fiercely in rope-pulling competitions and specially prepared obstacle courses. Prizes were awarded to the students who ranked in the competitions, and the tiredness of the day was replaced by joyful moments.
