“From Proxy Wars to Direct Conflict: The Transformation of Regional Security Iran–Israel–USA War” Discussed at PAU
The guests of the conference organized on Monday, April 27, in cooperation with Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) Department of History and Denizli Social Sciences Vocational School (DSSVS) were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Öz and Presidential International Relations Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Karaoğlu.
At the conference held in the Hierapolis Conference Hall of Denizli Social Sciences Vocational School, the dynamics of regional crises and the transformation in the international system were discussed. During the conference, the speakers addressed the question of whether countries should be evaluated individually or through a holistic approach and conducted comprehensive analyses on the causes of wars. In the program, where possible scenarios regarding Israel’s attacks on Iran and the possible killing of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei were evaluated, the potential new moves of the United States in the region were also discussed.
The event also covered the cultural structure of Iranian society, the oil-based balances of the Middle East, and whether international relations will change with technology. Expectations regarding the upcoming NATO summit and the condition of the post-pandemic oil market were also evaluated.
At the conference, where the effects of global economic uncertainties on Türkiye were also discussed, the importance of tourism and exports was emphasized. The program ended with a question-and-answer session in which participants’ questions were addressed.
