One of the most established events in the field of finance, the 28th Finance Symposium was organized this year by Malatya Turgut Özal University in collaboration with the Finance Science Platform from October 15–18. With over 200 participants presenting 90 scientific papers, the symposium included the presentation by PAU faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Uyar and Dr. Aslan Aydoğdu from Sivas Technology University titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on ESG Performance: A Quantile and Time-Frequency Based Empirical Approach.”

The study, examining the effect of artificial intelligence technologies on ESG performance, revealed that these technologies generally strengthen sustainability indicators. The analysis results indicate that the impact of artificial intelligence varies across certain time cycles and is closely related to the effectiveness of corporate governance structures. The research highlights that AI integration in the digitalization process can make sustainable finance policies more efficient. Based on the votes of the reviewers and the symposium scientific committee, the study was awarded first prize.
