20.10.2025
At the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) annual meeting held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from October 8–11, 2025, Assistant Professor Prof. Dr. Necmettin Yıldız from Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, won first place in the World Spinal Cord Injury Day poster competition (Theme: “Prevent Falls; Protect Your Spinal Cord”).

Prof. Dr. Necmettin Yıldız stated that ISCoS will use this poster in all its activities over the coming year and highlighted that they have achieved similar successes in previous years. He recalled that in 2023, he won first place with the poster themed “Access to Spinal Cord Injury Services: A Better Life” at the competition held in Edinburgh, Scotland, and in 2024, he received second place with the poster themed “Stop Violence: Protect the Spinal Cord” in Antwerp, Belgium. He expressed his pride in representing Türkiye again with this year’s new first-place achievement.

Prof. Dr. Yıldız explained that the figures used in this year’s poster draw attention to individual and societal causes of falls, which can vary depending on season, age, lifestyle, and geographic conditions. He emphasized that in taking preventive measures against these risks, the combined use of scientific data produced by professionals from different disciplines and artificial intelligence applications provides guidance. He also noted that this approach is important for protecting a healthy and aesthetic spinal structure.
