22.08.2025
The Department of Interventional Radiology at Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Medicine Hospitals hosted radiology specialists and resident physicians from Uşak and İzmir, offering a comprehensive training program. The program included both theoretical presentations and case-based practical training sessions on thyroid nodule ablation, parathyroid adenoma ablation, and liver tumor ablations.

During the training, it was conveyed that thyroid nodules, which usually develop as benign growths in the thyroid gland, can be treated without surgery through thyroid nodule ablation; parathyroid adenomas can be successfully treated under local anesthesia and with imaging guidance through parathyroid adenoma ablation; and in liver tumor ablation, tumors in patients unsuitable for surgery can be treated using needle-based radiofrequency or microwave ablation techniques.

“With Non-Surgical Methods, Patients Can Be Treated Without the Need for Surgery.”

Throughout the training, Prof. Dr. Muhammet Arslan, Assist. Prof. Dr. Kadir Han Alver, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Halil Serdar Aslan shared their knowledge and experience with the participating physicians, providing comprehensive insights into current interventional treatment methods. At the end of the program, plaques were presented to the guest doctors as a token of appreciation.
