Pamukkale University (PAU) Denizli Vocational School of Health Services (DSHMYO) celebrated October 1st, World Elderly Day, with a special event organized by the Elderly Care Program.

In the first part of the event, Prof. Dr. Nihal Büker, faculty member of Pamukkale University’s Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, delivered a presentation titled “Active and Healthy Aging.” In her talk, Prof. Dr. Büker shared scientific insights and practical recommendations on how to reach advanced ages in a healthy, productive, and happy manner. The presentation served as a valuable guide for both elderly care students and professionals in the field.

One of the most remarkable parts of the program was when the Elderly Care Program students shared interviews they had conducted with elderly individuals from their own families or acquaintances. The students presented excerpts from the life stories, experiences, and memories of the elderly participants. Following the presentations, Deputy Director Dr. Deniz Koçyiğit Kaplan thanked all the faculty members and students who contributed to organizing the event and presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Nihal Büker for sharing her valuable knowledge.

The event concluded with the opening of a photo exhibition titled “Elders in Everyday Life,” prepared by the Elderly Care Program students. The exhibition showcased sincere and powerful portraits of elderly individuals who play an active role in every sphere of society, raising awareness and appreciation among the visitors.
