Denizli İŞKUR Experts Became Guests of the Labor Market Practices Course
Representatives of the Denizli Provincial Directorate of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) were guests in the course titled “Labor Market Practices in Türkiye,” conducted by Prof. Dr. Handan Kumaş, faculty member of the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations at the Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Bringing together academic knowledge with institutional implementation experience, the course, in which active and passive labor market policies were discussed through concrete examples, began with opening remarks by Denizli İŞKUR Branch Manager Cemil Dinç regarding the institution’s structure and the services it provides. In the continuation of the course, active labor market policies were presented by Active Labor Service Supervisor Ahmet İri. While introducing the on-the-job training program and the youth program, İri also explained entrepreneurship supports for disabled individuals and former convicts with examples. Passive labor market policies were addressed by Passive Labor Service Chief Murat Özkan. Özkan presented unemployment insurance, the wage guarantee fund, half-time working allowance, and short-time working allowance practices through concrete cases. Data Preparation and Control Operator Pınar Özdemir shared practical information regarding the daily functioning of the institution. The course was completed with the questions and contributions of Associate Professor Dr. Türkmen Taşer Akbaş and the students.
This session, which directly connected the curriculum with field realities, provided students with a concrete perspective on labor market practices.
