Conference on Substance Addiction Held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences
In a conference organized for students by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (IIBF) at Pamukkale University (PAU), topics such as combating substance addiction and raising societal awareness were discussed.
Police Officer Mehmet Kılboz, who served as the speaker, provided detailed information on the social impacts of substance addiction, treatment processes, and legal regulations.
The conference emphasized the importance of preventive and educational efforts in the fight against substance addiction. Comprehensive information was also shared about the legal, medical, and psychological support services available to those in need, and a short film that won first place in a competition organized by the General Directorate of Security was screened. Participants were also informed about the support provided by critical institutions in societal efforts, including the Alo 191 Drug Control Advisory and Support Line, AMATEM (Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment and Training Center), and YEŞİLAY. Additionally, the “UYUMA” mobile application, highlighted as an innovative tool in combating drugs, was introduced, with an emphasis on its role as a dynamic platform supporting anti-drug efforts.
The conference concluded with a student reading the text titled “Advice to Youth” regarding substance addiction and drug prevention.
