Being a University in Gaza: The Voice of Gaza at PAU Science Café
As part of the “Science Café for Gaza” events organized on the occasion of World Peace Day on September 1, a program titled “Being a University in Gaza” was held by the Pamukkale University Science Communication Coordination Office.
Moderated by Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, the program featured Dr. Mohammed Fayq Aziz, a faculty member at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at the Islamic University of Gaza, who joined the event via live connection from Gaza and spoke about the current state of higher education in the region, the conditions under which academic activities are being maintained, and his expectations for the future.
The program also brought audio and video messages from students who are trying to continue their education in Gaza to the participants.
In the session titled “The Voice of Gaza on the PAU Campus,” Gazan students studying at our University shared their educational experiences, the difficulties they have faced, the solidarity they have witnessed, and their hopes for the future of Gaza.
The program drew attention to the continuation of education and scientific production in Gaza despite all the challenges and concluded with remarks by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Güngör.
