After the theoretical information given to the students of PAU Department of Archaeology in the training program organized by the instructors of Polar Bear Diving and Outdoor Sports Club, shallow water and deep water diving practice was carried out in Antalya Kaş district.
Students interested in Underwater Archaeology participated in the theoretical training held in the Archaeology Seminar Room of the Archaeology Education Laboratory of the Department of Archaeology and took part in various studies.
Department of Archaeology Lecturer. Assist. Dr. Koray Alper stated the following about the training he organized: "Thanks to the projects and collaborations to be carried out on Underwater Archaeology, it is among our goals to make Underwater Archaeology trainings more accessible to our students in our country surrounded by seas on three sides. In this way, students will be able to take part in all national and international land and underwater excavations thanks to their underwater and ancient maritime training as well as the education they have received from our department. I would like to thank the Department of Archaeology, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and especially our Rector Mr. Ahmet Kutluhan for allowing us to use the Archaeology Education Laboratory of the Department of Archaeology for the theoretical phase of the training, and my students Nurseli Avcı, who participated in the training with great devotion and seriousness, I would like to thank Birgül Eker Akan, Halil Türkata, Damla Yıldız, Neşe Tümbul, Emrah Bozkurt and last but not least Fatih Albayrak and all the instructors of Polar Bear Diving and Outdoor Sports Club for their quality training."
