"Sociological Possibilities and Limitations of Entrepreneurship" Discussed at PAU

Pamukkale University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology organized a panel titled "Sociological Possibilities and Limitations of Entrepreneurship".
Within the scope of the panel organized in İsmail Çetişli Conference Hall, the lecturer of the Department of Sociology, Res. Assist. Talha Aydın made a speech titled "Sociological Possibilities and Limitations of Entrepreneurship". Assist. Aydın first defined the concepts of entrepreneur and entrepreneurship in his presentation. In the continuation of the presentation, he evaluated the types of entrepreneurship and theoretical approaches to entrepreneurship. At this point, emphasizing the importance of a sociological approach to the phenomenon of entrepreneurship, Assist. Aydın stated that when it comes to the phenomenon of entrepreneurship in Turkey, the starting point of the analysis should be the Ottoman socio-economic structure.
Stating that certain structural and social conditions rooted in the Ottoman Empire extend to the present day, Assist. Aydın underlined that the phenomenon of entrepreneurship in Turkey has limitations in terms of centralized administration, capital accumulation problem, lack of economic culture, irrationalization of entrepreneurship, but also underlined that Turkey's young and dynamic population and social structure offer important opportunities for entrepreneurship to progress positively. The panel ended after the questions of the participants.
