Infusion Unit Started to Serve at PAU Hospital
The Infusion Unit in Department of Neurology, opened on the 6th floor of Pamukkale University Hospital Inpatient Services started to serve our patients.
Prof. Dr. Levent Sinan Bir made statements about the unit: "In recent years, the variety and use of treatment methods have increased, especially in immune system-mediated diseases, accompanied by dizzying developments in clinical neurology, especially in neuroimmunology. One of these diseases is multiple sclerosis (MS). In fact, we have been giving high-dose intravenous methylprednisolone treatment in MS attacks frequently for years, but the number of other treatment alternatives such as ocrelizumab and rituximab to prevent attacks has increased. Again, various immunomodulatory treatments are administered intravenously in neuromyelitis optica spectrum diseases and some other demyelinating diseases and some neuromuscular diseases. The leading among these is intravenous IgG infusions. Our patients who come only to receive intravenous drug treatment will be able to receive treatment without waiting for hospitalization."
