Emergency and Disaster Directorate Established at PAU

The trainings of the Emergency and Disaster Directorate established within Pamukkale University (PAU) have started. The PAU Search and Rescue Team, formed within the Emergency and Disaster Directorate, will receive practical training at various training sites between June 7-23, 2023.
With the Disaster and Emergency Branch Directorate established in accordance with the provisions of Provision No. 51 of Law No. 2547 with the decision of the University Board of Directors numbered 28.03.2023 12/18 under the PAU General Secretariat, it was aimed to carry out civil defense, disaster and emergency, mobilization and protective security services regularly and effectively.
Pamukkale Search and Rescue Team consisting of three groups of seventy (70) volunteer academic and administrative staff was established within PAU. The training program prepared by the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster for the team will be given between 7-23 June 2023. Within the scope of the trainings, two days of theoretical training and three days of field practice will be held per week.
Among the theoretical and practical trainings to be given; light search and rescue theoretical training, determining location training by taking bearing from certain triangulation points on the map, basic knots training used in high rescue operations, field practice and drill work in Bağbaşı DESKİ warehouse, on TEİAŞ, Provincial AFAD Directorate building, tenting and exam practice.
