20.04.2023

Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan published a message on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. In his message, Rector Prof. Dr. Kutluhan stated that the value of solidarity, unity, love and goodness was once again seen with the disaster of the century that took place on February 6, 2023 and wished that these blessed months and days would bring peace, tranquility and well-being.

Rector Kutluhan shared the following sentences as his Eid message:

"This year we are entering Eid al-Fitr with a bitter joy. On February 6, 2023, the devastating earthquakes that took place one after another and affected eleven provinces caused tens of thousands of people to lose their lives and many people to be injured. First of all, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I wish Allah's mercy to all our citizens who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to those who were injured.

The disaster of the century has once again shown the value of solidarity, unity, love and kindness to all humanity. While the whole world is struggling to support our citizens affected by this disaster, the Republic of Turkey has given and continues to give one of the best examples of how a nation can be in unity and solidarity. Happily, we are witnessing processes that fully reflect the spirit and meaning of the blessed month of Ramadan.

At the end of the month, we are all experiencing the happiness of reaching Eid al-Fitr, where we will continue to feel the sublime values such as love, respect, tolerance, solidarity and unity, which have an important place in our hearts. Ramadan is unity, brotherhood, solidarity and sharing. At the same time, Ramadan is loyalty, love and hope.

For this reason, we should further strengthen these feelings and behaviors during Eid al-Fitr and increase our unity and integrity as a country, especially through our support to the earthquake region. Because holy days are important values that give us strength to be happy, hopeful and full of love, where brotherhood is permanent and love is united.

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I wish that the fasts kept, the fitr given, the worship and prayers made will be accepted by Allah. I pray that these blessed months and days we are in will bring peace, tranquility and well-being to our country, the Islamic world and all humanity, that the suffering in the world and in our country will end, and that our earthquake victims will return to their normal lives as soon as possible.

With these feelings and thoughts, I sincerely congratulate the blessed Eid al-Fitr of the entire Islamic world, especially our country. I gratefully remember our saintly martyrs and heroic veterans who sacrificed their lives for the sake of sacred values, which enabled us to celebrate Eid in peace in our country.

Greetings and best regards."
