In relation to the Organ Donation Week, a stand activity was organized for four days in four different places on the campus of PAU.

At the stands staffed by dialysis program students and health directorate staff, visitors were informed about organ donation. At the end of the trainings, our faculty members and students donated organs at the stands. PAU DSHMYO Dialysis Program students who took part in the stands symbolically attached red hearts to the donors and placed their flowers on the donation tree created.

With the slogan "100 Organ Donations in the 100th Year of the Republic", a total of 209 organ donations from different faculties and Denizli Vocational School of Health Services staff and students, more than twice the targeted number of donations were reached.

DSHMYO Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. İli: "Each flower placed on the donation tree shows that lives will also flourish"

Expressing her feelings and thoughts about the event, PAU DSHMYO Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar İli stated the following: "The need for organ donation is increasing in our country. Today, with technological developments, many organs such as heart, kidney, lung, liver, pancreas, small intestine, cornea, bone marrow, blood and skin can be transplanted. However, there are problems in accessing organs and tissues for transplantation. The low number of cadaveric transplants in our country shows that the awareness of the society on this issue is insufficient. In addition to raising the awareness of organ donation, there is a need to raise awareness in other segments of society, especially in health technician candidates who will take part in critical tasks in universities and hospitals where we move forward in the light of knowledge. This success we have achieved in the event we organized is the result of the devoted work of our team members and students. Each flower placed on the donation tree shows that lives will flourish. Each leaf on our donation tree is a life; each flower is a new spring; each root represents our donors who have come together with their differences, sustain each other and grow by holding on to each other. We would like to thank everyone who took part in the training activities this week, participated in our trainings, greened our tree by donating organs and gave hope to those waiting for organ donation, and we reiterate our call for participation in the campaign to support organ donation."
