Opening Lecture on Gaza Held at Sarayköy Vocational School

The opening lecture of the 2025–2026 Academic Year at Pamukkale University (PAU) Sarayköy Vocational School (VS) was delivered by Prof. Dr. Osman Aydınlı, Director of the Institute of Islamic Sciences and Faculty Member of the Faculty of Theology, under the title “The Tears of Gaza and the Al-Aqsa Mosque/The Palestinian Issue.”

The event, held in the Vocational School Conference Hall, was attended by Sarayköy District Governor İsmail Pendik, former Mayor Ahmet Özbaş, Sarayköy Gendarmerie Commander First Lieutenant Mehmet Tolgahan Şahin, Serinhisar Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Engin Tan, District Sports Director Hanifi Esmer, as well as many teachers and students.

The program began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem, followed by an opening speech delivered by Sarayköy VS Director Assoc. Prof. Koray Şarkaya. In his speech, Director Şarkaya made an introductory presentation about the school and shared Sarayköy VS’s plans and goals for the upcoming term. After the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Osman Aydınlı delivered his academic lecture titled “The Tears of Gaza and the Al-Aqsa Mosque/The Palestinian Issue.” Emphasizing the importance of Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims, Prof. Aydınlı gave a compelling presentation accompanied by photographs from the field, highlighting the humanitarian tragedy and providing deep insights into the extent of the ongoing crisis.

Following the lecture, Sarayköy District Governor İsmail Pendik presented Prof. Dr. Osman Aydınlı with a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative gift. During the ceremony, certificates of recognition were also presented to faculty members and staff who had served as project coordinators or researchers in TÜBİTAK projects over the past year and to those who had published works indexed in international databases. The program concluded with a group photo featuring protocol members and students.
