Basic Self-Defense Training Provided to Female Academics
The “Basic Self-Defense Training,” organized in collaboration with Pamukkale University (PAU) Denizli Vocational School of Health Services and the Faculty of Sports Sciences, was held on Thursday, September 11, with the participation of female academics.
The increase in incidents of violence against women in recent years has once again highlighted the importance of personal safety and self-defense awareness, and the university has taken an exemplary step in this regard. The training, aimed at female academic staff, was conducted at the Martial Arts Hall within the PAU Sports Hall.
In the training, provided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamza Kaya Beşler, faculty member of the Department of Sports Management, participants were shown basic self-defense techniques that can be applied in potential threat situations. This training program, implemented with the support of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, attracted great interest from female academics.
Participants emphasized that such programs are very valuable both for security and psychological empowerment. Pamukkale University aims to continue organizing awareness-raising activities like this in the future to combat violence against women and support female employees.
