Awareness on Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Dating Violence Discussed at Acıpayam MYO
Within the scope of the Volunteer Studies course conducted under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Fatmanur Öztoklu Durmuş in the Child Development Program at Pamukkale University (PAU) Acıpayam Vocational School (Acıpayam MYO), a meaningful awareness event was held.
As part of the “There is Need, There is Support” project carried out by students Eylül Özkan, Şeyda Bayram, and Damla Yıldız, a seminar titled “Awareness on Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Dating Violence” was organized on 6 May in cooperation with the Denizli Branch of the Women’s Rights Protection Association.
In the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Selvi Demirtaş and Clinical Psychologist Gülşen Yarımca shared important information on the development of healthy relationships among young people, recognizing dating violence, and awareness and prevention processes regarding sexually transmitted diseases. At the beginning of the event, Association President Nurten Karakış informed participants about the organization’s fields of activity and ongoing work.
The seminar, which attracted great interest from students, ended after the question-and-answer session. At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers and cooperating institution representatives for their contributions.
