A Red-and-White Start at PAU Children’s University After the Midterm Break

03.02.2026
PAU Children’s University reopened its doors after the midterm break with a meaningful and equally enthusiastic event. The first lesson themed “Love of the Flag,” conducted simultaneously across Türkiye upon the instruction of the Ministry of National Education, turned into a visual celebration at the Children’s University.

Love of the Flag in Little Hearts

Starting the day dressed in the colors of the Turkish flag, young students and teachers transformed PAU Children’s University into what resembled a field of poppies. Beginning their lessons in red-and-white outfits, the children greeted the most beautiful symbol of independence through enjoyable activities.

First Lesson: Love and National Awareness

As part of the program held within the scope of the event, young hearts proudly recited the Turkish National Anthem in unison. Dancing to flag-themed songs, the children experienced the joy of learning national values through fun. In conversations held with teachers, the historical and spiritual significance of the Turkish flag was explained in a simple and warm language appropriate for children.

“Our Hearts Are the Flag, Our Future Is the Homeland”

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Fatma Taşkın Ekici, Director of PAU Children’s University Center, stated that this meaningful start aims to strengthen children’s awareness of national identity and said: “Deepening our children’s love and respect for our flag and instilling in them a love of the homeland is our most fundamental duty. Today, we have formed a heartfelt bond here to raise the conscious individuals of our future. Children are our tomorrows!” At the end of the day, the smiles on the children’s faces and the Turkish flags in their hands became the most vivid proof of the slogan “Our Hearts Are the Flag, Our Future Is the Homeland.”
