Autumn Festival Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Honaz Vocational School
The Autumn Festival held at Pamukkale University’s (PAU) Honaz Vocational School (Honaz MYO) attracted strong participation from students. Bringing together academic and administrative staff and students, the event offered a day filled with music, dance, sports and entertainment.
The programme began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem, followed by a Film Music Concert performed by the Aroya Academic Chamber Orchestra. The event continued with opening speeches by protocol representatives, and a performance by the PAU Folk Dance Group received great acclaim from students. Throughout the festival, students took part in team and individual games provided by the Honaz District Directorate of Youth and Sports, enjoying both competition and entertainment. Later in the day, students gathered for a pleasant break over refreshments provided by Pamukkale University’s Department of Health, Culture and Sports.
With music and entertainment continuing throughout the day, DJ Serap took the stage at the festival. Students danced to the DJ’s performance and further heightened the festival atmosphere by performing the traditional group dance known as halay together. The music group Homeless took the stage for the festival’s finale, leaving its mark on the event with an energetic performance. As the concert drew a large number of students and the excitement grew, the Autumn Festival came to an end with unforgettable moments.
In her assessment of the event, Honaz Vocational School Director Assistant Professor Necla İrem İri stated:
“I would like to express our gratitude to our PAU Rector, Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör; the Department of Health, Culture and Sports; the Honaz District Directorate of Youth and Sports; the Aroya Academic Chamber Orchestra; the PAU Folk Dance Group; DJ Serap; the Homeless Music Group; and the Honaz Vocational School Social and Cultural Activities Group for their contributions to the organisation of our Autumn Festival. I would also like to sincerely thank all our students, academic staff and administrative staff who joined us and shared the joy of this wonderful day.
We consider it important to create opportunities for our students to develop not only academically but also in social, cultural and sporting fields. I believe this wonderful event was a day that strengthened the unity and solidarity of the Honaz Vocational School community and helped our students create fond memories of university life.”
